Team Wakanda, comprising James Kojo Boadu, Fynnba A. Harrison, Benedicta Hayford, and Amanda Efua Essel-Donkor, is leading the Mentor A Student Initiative under the guidance of SIP mentor Dr. Pearl Esenam Dumenu. This social impact project aims to offer career guidance and mentorship to reduce youth unemployment in Ghana. The goal is to help students become more self-aware, gain career insights, and develop entrepreneurial mindsets through a robust mentoring network supported by experienced professionals. So far, three impactful sessions have been held, covering self-awareness, goal setting, and personal leadership. We also organized a virtual conference, “Creating Your Own Job Opportunities in a Tough Job Market” which attracted 75 participants, while over 500 individuals engage in a WhatsApp group where career-tailored opportunities are shared daily. We are excited to continue the journey with our mentees and plan to conclude the program with an educational tour. To do this, we seek funding support for refreshments and logistics. Together, we can shape a generation of confident, visionary leaders.
