Team GrowSmart is driving Roots & Robots, an initiative merging agriculture with technology to equip students with future-ready skills. Our team includes Samuel Nana Yaw Yeboah Takyi, Akua Kakra Agyepong, and Gyan Kwaku Takyi Faka, under the mentorship of Mr. John Basil Akoto, a seasoned civil engineer and project manager, and Redeemer Salami O., an AI Engineer and BoE. At St. James SHS in Sunyani, we’ve introduced students to agriculture and the role of technology in farming, while also building their confidence through public speaking and pitching sessions.

The team completed hands-on training with Arduino kits to support smart backyard gardening. Currently, the students are working in groups, planting crops and applying all they’ve learned from tech skills to presentation strategies, as they prepare to pitch their innovative ideas to stakeholders and guests. We are seeking financial support, volunteers, and expert facilitators to further strengthen and sustain this transformative learning experience.

Empowering communities through technology for a smarter, connected future.
